About Us

The South Boston Neighborhood House continues to reflect the spirit of the Settlement House Movement, carrying out its mission "to support family and neighborhood life in South Boston" through seven major programs operating at four sites. that focus on developing the individual and collective strengths of the South Boston community. All Neighborhood House programs: Senior Center, Adolescent Services, and Early Education and Care, are focused on education. Beginning with the infants and toddlers in our Preschool Program, up to the seniors in our "Jet Setters" group, our mandate is to promote the healthy development of families and the community in which they live.

Our Senior Center offers our senior citizens an opportunity to maintain their independence and self-respect and be socially active members of the community.

Adolescent Programs mentor a new generation of South Boston youth as they develop the strength and skills to create full, self-sufficient and drug-free lives.

Our Early Education and Care programs provide support to families through child care, part-time play groups, out-of-school-time activities, and parent support.
