How To Give
Individual Giving
The South Boston Neighborhood House depends on the generosity of individuals capable of giving at all levels. For over 100 years, the Neighborhood House has relied on the generosity of countless individuals to help us support those most in need and keep our neighborhood and its residents healthy and strong. The methods in which individuals make gifts vary, from payroll deductions or simply writing a check to establishing a bequest.
Corporate Giving
Program specific financial support can be directed to a particular program. Often times a corporate partner will have some direct involvement in the program they choose to support or the program closely matches their philanthropic philosophy.
General financial support allows the Neighborhood House to direct a corporate contribution to where it is most needed within our programs. The ability of the Neighborhood House to deploy resources where they are most needed remains our most critical need.
Other Ways
Please consider supporting the important work we do for thousands of at-risk children and families by donating goods and services. The Neighborhood House provides a year round opportunity for individual and business donors to assist with gifts and/or financial support. We rely on the kindness and commitment of businesses, colleges and universities, volunteer corps, and private donors to meet these needs that are outside of our budget constraints. Furthermore, because many of our families fall within the financial parameters but can not obtain vouchers for services, the Neighborhood House makes every effort to offer subsidies for services so no need goes unmet.
Holiday Gift Drive
The South Boston Neighborohood House conducts an annual toy/gift drive to meet the holiday wishes of needy children and their families throughout the neighborhood. Individuals, corporations and civic groups have the option of making monetary donations, general donations of items or gift cards or choosing to adopt the wish list of a neighborhood family experiencing hardship during the holiday season.
Each year the South Boston Neighborhood House matches the giving of dozens of companies, groups and individuals with the needs of hundreds of children and families throughout South Boston. Last year, we coordinated over $30,000 in goods.
